This is an interesting project under development – a Linux-based operating system intended for miners of Ethereum or Ethereum (ETC) plus SiaCoin (SC) dual mining that comes with a centralized web-based monitoring and control dashboard. The SimpleMining Easy OS uses the Claymore Dual Miner, though it does not yet support all of the video cards that are supported by the miner. You can use it only on AMD Radeon R300/R200/HD7xxx series of GPUs with support for Radeon RX400 expected to be available soon and maybe even Nvidia support to be added at a later time. What is interesting is that you don’t need to use remote control software to monitor and change the operating parameters of your Mining Rigs, you can do it through a dashboard on the official website of the project directly.
The latest update of the SimpleMining Easy OS did bring even overclocking support through the dashboard, though that may not be wise if you don’t know what your GPUs can handle… it is best to find the optimal settings with direct access to the mining rig as it may hang with the wrong frequencies. For the moment SimpleMining Easy OS does need at least an 8GB drive (could be used from a USB stick) and you only need to set your email in the configuration that you are going to be using to login on the website for monitoring and control of the mining rig. There are some security concerns regarding the access from web and the login with only email address though, so you might want to be careful what email address you use.

LBRY is a new blockchain-based decentralized content-sharing platform geared towards content creators (filmmakers, musicians, writers, or software developers) who want to have full control over their own work. There are no ads, no corporate censors, and LBRY takes no portion of your income as a content creator and consumers can also benefit as there is finally an alternative to the big media stores. It has been in development for a while, but just recently it was launched in Beta, though you still need to request an invitation in order to be able to get early access. The LBRY network uses its own crypto token called LBRY Credits (LBC) that you can already mine, even if you still have not received your early access to the platform for the moment (while waiting to get it). Not to mention that there is also an operational market for LBRY Credits on Bittrex, so that you can also trade them when you mine some.
Initially LBRY Credits (LBC) mining was only possible with a CPU miner released by bitbandi (source), with compiled Windows binaries by the miner author available here. The CPU miner however is not very useful anymore as a GPU miner has been released shortly after in the form of an sgminer 5.4.0 forked to support the algorithm used by LBRY (source) that is much faster, you can find a downloadable 64-bit Windows binary release below that you can try if you are interested. Do note that the sgminer for LBRY currently works only on AMD GPUs, but with this big interest we are hopefully also going to soon see a GPU miner for Nvidia GPUs as well. There are already two mining pools available with more probably to follow, the first one was made available by Suprnova (not yet updated for the difficulty adjustment of the GPU miner and the GPU miner can provide lower hashrate as a result) and the second one is by Pool.mn that already adjusts difficulty for the significantly higher hashrate of GPUs.

GenTarkin’s custom modified KNC Titan Scrypt ASIC firmware has been updated to version 1.0.4 with the update focusing on fixing issues that may cause the Energy Saver function to get stuck and never finish optimizing the power usage of the mining cubes attached to the controller. The modified firmware provides users with better and more functional interface and more importantly a more safer to use and better performing miner. This very useful extra functionality provided by GenTarkin’s Custom KNC Titan Firmware comes at a price, you need to purchase a full license for the modified firmware that is currently sold at $75 USD for the controller and if you have an additional devices you can purchase extra licenses for $35 USD each for each controller (key for activation only), not for each cube.
We have been using the previous release 1.0.2 for some time already and are really happy with it, though when we wanted to test the Energy Saver feature we apparently got trapped in a loop taking days and the optimization process not finishing. So hopefully we would be able to finish our testing of the automated functionality intended for reducing the power consumption of KNC Titan miners with the new 1.0.4 version of GenTarkin’s Custom KNC Titan Firmware. So stay tuned for our report on our experience and results using the extra Energy Saver feature with the new release in a couple of days. Other than the issue with the Energy Saver feature looping for days without finishing the process we are very pleased with the modified firmware as compared to the latest official firmware for the Titan miners. So we would advice all KNC Titan ASIC owners still using the official firmware to check out the latest GenTarkin’s Custom KNC Titan Firmware.
