It Is All About BTC, LTC, ETH, DOGE, KAS mining as well as other alternative crypto currencies
We have compiled a new windows binary from the latest ccMiner 1.5.1-git by tpruvot (source) that comes with support for the Lyra2RE algorithm – the algorithm that VertCoin (VTC) is going to be forking to. There is an official ccMiner fork with support for Lyra2RE available, but it seems that tpruvot’s fork is slightly better in terms of performance. We are getting about 1180 KHS with a GTX 980 GPU running at stock frequencies and around 1140 KHS with the official Lyra2RE ccMiner on the same hardware. Do note that this is not an official 1.5.1 release from tpruvot, we have just compiled a binary form the latest source in order to be able to test Lyra2RE mining performance on the available test pool. Our windows binary is compiled with VS2013 and supports Compute 3.0, 3.5, 5.0 and 5.2 GPUs, you can download and try it below, there is an example BAT file setup for testing hashrate at the Hashlink’s test VTC pool with Lyra2RE support.

The API functionality that was recently introduced to the ccMiner fork by tpruvot (source) is now accessible through a websocket directly from the web browser. This means that you just need to open a HTML file on your computer to be able to monitor stats from the ccMiner that is running with the API enabled, no need to have a web server running on the same computer in order to be able to browse statistical information via the API. The sample websocket code included in the latest code from tpruvot just shows a graphical representation of the hashrate, but it can be extended to include other statistics as well from the available data provided by the API. We have compiled a windows binary from the latest code supporting Compute 3.0 to Compute 5.2 GPUs and you can download and try it from the link below. The included sample websocket.htm file is for showing you the basic hashrate stats, you need to run the ccMiner with the API enabled for the stats to work.

A few days ago we have posted a windows binary compiled from the latest source of ccMiner 1.5 from tpruvot and now an official final release is available with a windows binary release compiled by the author of the miner. The final version does come with some additional improvements as compared to the 1.5-git release from a few days ago, so if you are using the older windows binary you might want to update now. The ccMiner 1.5-tpruvot fork adds extranonce support that is used by services for selling and buying hashrate such as NiceHash and also has further improved API and Nvidia GPU monitoring features available. In terms of performance there is some slight improvement especially for X13 where you may notice a bit higher hashrate as compared to the 1.5-git windows binary. The ccMiner 1.5-tpruvot fork supports Nvidia-based GPUs with Compute 3.0 or newer capabilities, so make sure that you are not trying to run the miner on too old hardware
