There are just 5 days left before the Ravencoin (RVN) fork to the new KAWPOW algorithm and you should probably get ready for mining. To do so you might want to try the latest official Kawpowminer 1.2.0 bugfix release supporting the new KAWPOW algorithm to be used by Ravencoin for mining after the fork. This release is based on Progminer ProgPoW miner and is opensource and has no development fee unlike some other miners available that also do support the KAWPOW algorithm. Do note that the miner binary release still does not include the required Nvidia CUDA libraries, so you would also need to have the latest Nvidia CUDA Toolkit installed (or at least the runtime libraries from it).

Besides the Minermore RVN testnet pool announced with the initial release of the Kawpowminer, there is now a RVNt pool for testing KaWPOW mining on BSDO Pool as well. You can use the below command line to test mining on the BSOD pool, just set a WALLET address and you should be ready to go:

RavenCoin KAWPOW testnet BSOD pool:
kawpowminer -U -P stratum+tcp://WALLET.worker@pool.bsod.pw:2638

Do note that BSOD pool recommends that you test with the latest Kawpowminer or the latest NBMiner 30.0 as other mining software such as GMiner 2.09 and TT-Miner 4.0.0 apparently still have some issues that need to be fixed for proper KAWPOW support, though they will hopeful be fixed in time for the fork expected to happen on May 6th 2020 at 18:00:00 UTC.

The latest NBMiner 30.0 update comes with a built-in replacement for the OhGodAnETHlargementPill memory timings optimization tool for Nvidia GPU owners of GTX 1080 and GTX 1080 Ti with GDDR5X video memory. The implementation from NBMiner does however requires the use of a custom unsigned driver under Windows and admin privileges under Linux, so not as easy as just running a custom executable file to enable the tweaks. Once implemented however it could allow for greater flexibility as you have the option to use different levels of optimizations for the memory timings via command line parameters. Have in mind that not all crypto algorithms may benefit from memory timings optimization, here are the two options you need to use to enable and activate the memory tings optimizations in the latest version of NBMiner.

--mt, --memory-tweak Memory timings optimize for Nvidia GDDR5 & GDDR5X gpus. range [1-6]. Higher value equals higher hashrate. Individual value can be set via comma seperated list. Power limit may need to be tuned up to get more hashrate. Higher reject share ratio can happen if mining rig hits high temperature, set lower value of -mt can reduce reject ratio. Under windows, a custom driver need to be installed before using -mt, see description of --driver for more detail. Admin priviledge is needed to run under linux, sudo ./nbminer -mt x. OhGodAnETHlargementPill is not needed anymore if -mt is enabled when mining on 1080 & 1080ti GPUs.
--driver Windows only option, install / uninstall driver for memory tweak. Run with admin priviledge. install: nbminer.exe --driver install, uninstall: nbminer.exe --driver uninstall. Note: the installed custom driver is not signed by microsoft, users need to disable secure boot in BIOS settings to get the driver work.

We remind you that the NBMiner is a closed source GPU miner for Nvidia CUDA and now AMD as well that is available for both Windows and Linux operating systems and it has the following developer fee built-in: tensority_ethash 3%, tensority(Pascal) 2%, tensority(Turing) 3%, ethash 0.65%, cuckaroo & cuckatoo & cuckaroo_swap 2%, progpow_sero 2%, sipc 2%, bfc 3%, hns 2%, hns_ethash 3%, trb 2%, trb_ethash 3%, kawpow 2%.

The latest GMiner 2.07 Nvidia and AMD GPU miner continues improving the Cuckatoo32 performance with the latest update capable of delivering up to +20% performance boost depending on the GPU and OC mode used according to the developer. Definitely a nice improvement worth an updating if you are mining anything that uses the Cuckatoo32 algo, but also have in mind that the default developer fee for the Cuckatoo32 algorithm is set at 3% and is not the standard 2% as for most other algorithms supported by GMiner.

The GMiner miner software was originally only an Nvidia GPU miner, although some algorithms are already supported on AMD GPUs as well. Do note that GMiner is a closed source miner for Nvidia and AMD GPUs with binaries available for both Windows and Linux, there is a 2% developer fee built-in the software.
