Bminer 15.1.0 With Improved Support for the Cuckaroo29 and Cuckatoo31 Algorithms

The latest Bminer 15.1.0 comes with improved performance and reduced reject rate for the Cuckaroo29 and Cuckatoo31 algorithms used by GRIN as well as experimental support Cuckaroo29 on AMD cards (ROCM only). The update also improves compatibility on Windows and fixes the regression on UI dashboard. Do note that since Bminer runs on Nvidia GPUs by default you will need to specify device IDs with amd: to run on AMD cards, for example the command line option -devices amd:0 will run the miner on the first AMD GPU it finds in the system. DO note that AMD support is still experimental and before this version that brings Cuckaroo29 on AMD GPUs, Bminer already supported BEAM mining on AMD as well (Equihash 150,5).
We remind you that that Bminer is a closed source Nvidia GPU miner available for Linux and Windows in the form of pre-compiled binaries and that there is a 2% development fee for Grin, Beam, Bytom (BTM), Equihash and Zhash coins, 0.65% for Ethash and 1.3% for dual mining Ethash and Blake.

what is ROCM stands for? I’ve tried with RX580 8gb and miner app did crash citing Open Cl error -11(?).

Radeon Open Compute Platform (ROCm) is an open-source HPC/Hyperscale-class platform for GPU computing that’s also programming-language independent, it is available only for Linux though – https://rocm.github.io/

Ok there is not currently any instruction on the websight I can find for C29 algo and AMD.
This would be quite helpful.

I’ve tried this one and the tt you wrote about earlier and they both work fine with my 1080. How do you choose which one to use? Why using a single miner is better than letting a roll like nice hash choose what to mine?

Federico, NiceHash is limited in algorithms supported, it might be safer, but not always the most profitable… especially in low profit market like now it is easy to miss good opportunities.

Federico, it depends… GRIN might explode in the future, but it might not, so there is higher risk than with BTC.
