There is now a new sgminer fork with MTP support being actively developed by djm34 (source) that looks promising, though it might need some more extra work for becoming more stable stable and reliable. Performance results on AMD RX 580 and AMD VEGA GPUs are quite good compared to what Nvidia MTP miners are currently offering and hashrate is much better than what the only available option with MTP support for ADM so far was delivering up until now – WildRig Multi. So if you are interested in mining ZCoin using the MTP algorithm on AMD you might want to give the new sgminer fork a try, there are two separate kernels available – mtp and mtp_vega and you might try both on your AMD GPUs to see what works better. Do note that the sgminer fork with MTP support is currently only available with a Windows binаry, though since it is open source you can try compiling it on Linux.

There are already a number of miners available for Nvidia GPUs that support the Equihash 150,5 algorithm used by BEAM, however there aren’t that much available to AMD miners and there is pretty much just one being actively developed at the moment – lolMiner. The lolMiner is a closed source Equihash GPU miner available for Windows and Linux and focused on AMD GPU, though it also works with Nvidia GPUs, in order to get support for BEAM’s Equihash 150,5 algorithm you need to go for the newer 0.7 alpha version with alpha4 being the latest. The latest version of the miner should work with 3GB VRAM GPUs, though there could be some issues if using Windows 10 on your mining rigs.

The performance you can expect on AMD’s RX 580 GPUs is about 11-12 Sol/s, pretty much the same that Nvidia GTX 1060 can deliver on Equihash 150,5. If you have older AMD HD 7970 or R9 280 you can get slightly less at about 10 Sol/s and on AMD VEGA you should be able to get up to about twice that hashrate, so performance is quite good on AMD. The fastest miners for Nvidia GPUs however are doing better than AMD GPUs, like about 30 Sol/s on GTX 1080 Ti for example, so have that in mind as well.

The latest Bminer 13.0.0 should be the preferred choice for a Nvidia GPU miners that are currently mining Grin as it offers the best performance at the moment compared to other available miners. However there are still some things that may need extra work such as full worker support for Sparkpool (one of the first and largest currently available for Grin mining). At the moment you can use Bminer with Sparkpool, but all your rigs will be under a single worker called “miner-rig-0” as the worker setting of the pool interfere with the settings for pool, username and password schema that Bminer uses. The extra performance of up to about 50-60% compared to other miners such as NBminer or GMiner and others is well worth it. There is apparently a way to actually setup a worker on Sparkpool, you just need to escape the slash used for setting up a worker name and it will work just fine, here you ca find a short guide on how to do it.

We remind you that that Bminer is a closed source Nvidia GPU miner available for Linux and Windows in the form of pre-compiled binaries and that there is a 2% development fee for Grin, Beam, Bytom (BTM), Equihash and Zhash coins, 0.65% for Ethash and 1.3% for dual mining Ethash and Blake.
