The latest update to the CryptoNight AMD GPU miner SRBMiner brings binary kernels on the table, allowing the miner to load faster on some of the most popular AMD GPUs instead of having to compile the kernels on each start of the software. The binary kernels are also a solution to a problem with drivers 18.7 and newer that seem to generate bad kernels, even though these drivers are not recommended. The binary kernels are available for the following AMD GPUs: Vega 56, Vega 64, Vega FE, RX 470, RX 480, RX 570, RX 580, RX 560 and RX 560. Older AMD GPUs such as R9 2×0 and 3×0 series are still supported, but they will still be compiling kernels on each start. If you are having issues with the binary kernels you can just delete the BinaryKernels directory and the miner will once again generate them on each run. There are also some OpenCL optimizations, mainly on the Heavy algorithms, so you can get a few extra percent in them. The last major release of Bminer 10.0.0 has introduced support for Equihash 144,5 mining, though it was limited to only Zhash used by Bitcoin Gold (BTG), but the latest update 10.2.0 opens up the doors to all Equihash 144,5 coins. You can now mine all coins that use the Equihash 144,5 with the use of the -pers
command line parameter setting up the coin you want to mine. You can now mine BitcoinZ, SafeCoin, ZelCash, SnowGem and others that use the Equihash 144,5 algorithm with the latest Bminer 10.2.0. We remind you that that Bminer is a closed source Nvidia GPU miner available for Linux and Windows in the form of pre-compiled binaries and that there is a 2% development fee for Bytom (BTM), Equihash and Zhash coins, 0.65% for Ethash and 1.3% for dual mining Ethash and Blake.

While we are still waiting for the upcoming Avalon A9 Bitcoin ASIC miners that will be based on 7nm technology, Canaan Creative has apparently started selling AvalonMiner 851… the successor of 841. The new AvalonMiner 851 is based on the same 16 nm A3210HP ASIC chips that the 841 uses, though apparently there have been some optimizations in order for the new model to reach 15 THS up from 13.6 THS for the 841 version. So with Canaan AvalonMiner 851 you get 15 THS hashrate for Bitcoin mining with 1450W of power usage, allowing for a slightly better hashrate density, but not much of an efficiency improvement in terms of power usage. It is interesting to note that at the official Canaan website the AvalonMiner 841 is listed at $425 USD while the 851 is at $450 USD or just 25 dollars more, though wit distributors the price difference would be higher.
