We have compiled a windows binary of the new sgminer 5.0 beta based on the latest (source) and you can download and try it yourself from the link below. The sgminer 5.0 beta is trying to provide an unified and feature-full GPU miner by integrating the kernels for mining various crypto currencies in a single miner, including support the latest algorithms. We have compiled this binary in order to use it in our NiceHash Control tool based package with support for AMD GPUs and we are going to update the latest package with the new sgminer 5.0 beta shortly. We have already tried the binary with the latest AMD beta video drivers and it does work fine with slightly higher performance, so you might want to update to the 14.7 Beta drivers if you still haven’t done so. Update from the previous 14.6 beta might not bring such a performance increase, unlike updating from previous versions, where you can expect to get a better performance boost.

NiceHash Control Tool 1.1.1 Pack for AMD Radeon 280X

We have updated our NiceHash Control tool package with sgminer for use with AMD Radeon R9 280X or 7970 GPUs to the latest NiceHash Control version 1.1.1 that adds up some new useful features. The idea for this tool is to sell your hashrate at the NiceHash service making the highest possible profit by switching to the most profitable mining algorithm all the time. Our ready to use package supports the X11, X13, X15 and NIST5 algorithms as we consider that these are currently the most profitable ones as well as the ones that will use less power and generate less heat. The update available here also introduces backup pools for each algorithm, so that when NiceHash is down you will move to the TradeMyBit pool as a backup (you need a registration there and to setup the backup pool’s user and password to your own).
What you need to do in order to use our AMD Radeon 280X mining pack is to edit the config file and set your BTC address, edit the backup pool settings in the MINERS.bat file and then just start the AUTOSTART.BAT file to fire up the software. What is left is to monitor your earnings on the NiceHash website, and you can check the log.txt file for information what algorithm was switched to and when. This version of the package does take advantage of the failover pool feature that sgminer supports, something that is still not available in the ccMiner for Nvidia, where we have to use a workaround to provide a backup pool support. We have updated our NiceHash Control tool pack for GeForce GTX 750 Ti miners for selling your hashrate on the NiceHash service with maximum profit. Our mining pack comes ready for mining rigs using GTX 750 Ti cards, with a ccMiner fork supporting Windows XP or newer and Compute 3.0 cards or newer. We have preset the hashrate for a single GTX 750 Ti card for the various algorithms, though this pack supports only X11, X13, X15 and Nist5 as we believe that there is not much point in adding the others as they are not very profitable or mine on Nvidia GPUs or on GPUs in general. You can use the tool on mining rigs with multiple cards or with different Nvidia GPUs as well, but then the automatic calculation for the expected profit for the various algorithms will be off.
In this update we have used the latest version 1.04 of the NiceHash Control tool. Also we have made a simple solution to include a backup pool in case NiceHash does have some problems, something that is useful as ccMiner does not officially support failover pools. Do note that the backup pool will kick in after a minute of the miner not being able to connect to NiceHash and it will mine there until the software switches the most profitable algorithm or if the backup pool connection fails for some reason.
