sgminer-50-windows-latest

It has been a while since we have compiled a windows binary of the new sgminer 5.0 based on the latest (source) as it seems that the version 5.0 is already out of beta. The sgminer 5.0 is trying to provide an unified and feature-full GPU miner by integrating the kernels for mining various crypto currencies in a single miner, including support the latest algorithms. Do note that the kernels included with this release may not be the fastest out there in terms of performance for X-based crypto currencies as there my be other forks that offer higher performance. This is just a windows binary that we have compiled from the latest source, so if you are using the official sgminer and not some fork you might want to check out the latest version.

ccminer-blake-256-support

There is a new ccMiner fork for Nvidia GPUs that brings support for the Blakecoin (Blake-256) as well as other new algorithms and crypto coins supported in ccMiner. The new fork by user tpruvot on Github (source) supports not only the standard crypto currencies available in the official ccMiner but also BlakeCoin (256 8-rounds), NEOS blake (256 14-rounds), X14, X15, X17, WHIRL etc. The miner also adds some color options to make the output easily readable, instead of outputting everything as white text on black background. The precompiled Windows binary seems to work pretty well, though we’ve had some trouble using it on a system with two GPUs, but specifying a device option for each and running separately on GTX 780 Ti and GTX 750 Ti had no problems.

Do note that the source of this ccMiner fork is made to be compiled with CUDA 6.5 and Visual Studio 2013, though it can also be compiled on Linux, the binary releases available for Windows will also require you to have the most recent version of the Nvidia GPU driver in order to use them. You will need to download and install the latest GeForce 340.72 driver that brings support for CUDA 6.5 (if you are using older driver version), otherwise the miner may not function. The official binary release of the miner does come precompiled for Compute 3.0 and Compute 5.0, so it will not work on older video cards.

miner-control-software

The successor of the NiceHash Control tool is now here and it is called Miner Control. The software from the same author, StuffOfInterest on Bitcointalk, is built on top of the basic profit switching algorithm use in NiceHash Control, but now comes with more pools supported. With Miner Control you are now able to switch between the most profitable pool among the following:NiceHash, TradeMyBit and YAAMP. There is also a manual configurations support for last resort backup pool also available, something that we have implemented in the form of a workaround for our mining packages that we have released for AMD and Nvidia that were using the NiceHash Control tool some time ago. We are soon going to be updating these packages to take advantage of the new features and functionality that the Miner Control offers, but meanwhile you can check out the new application and read about all of the new features and options it offers and also do your own configurations pairing it with a miner of your choice.
