It Is All About BTC, LTC, ETH, DOGE, KAS mining as well as other alternative crypto currencies
There is an update of the official cgminer with Neoscrypt support to version 3.7.8 that adds new kernel with better performance and make the miner work with the latest AMD drivers 14.9, something that was not working with the older 3.7.7b miner. We have compiled a windows binary of the new cgminer 3.7.8 Neoscrypt (source) that you can download from the link below and try. Our first test on a AMD Radeon R9 280X without overclock has shown a performance of about 140 KHS, so about 50 percent increase from the older version and some people report going close to 200 with overclocked cards. Since there is still no CUDA miner for Neoscrypt available you can use this cgminer with OpenCL on Nvidia-based GPUs as well, though on Nvidia you are probably not going to see much of an improvement over the previous version of the miner.

It has been a while since we have compiled a windows binary of the new sgminer 5.0 based on the latest (source) as it seems that the version 5.0 is already out of beta. The sgminer 5.0 is trying to provide an unified and feature-full GPU miner by integrating the kernels for mining various crypto currencies in a single miner, including support the latest algorithms. Do note that the kernels included with this release may not be the fastest out there in terms of performance for X-based crypto currencies as there my be other forks that offer higher performance. This is just a windows binary that we have compiled from the latest source, so if you are using the official sgminer and not some fork you might want to check out the latest version.

It seems that Zeus has updated their cgminer 3.1.1 fork with support for the ZeusMiner Scrypt ASICs with a version for the new X6 low power miners, though it should also be compatible with the previous miners as well. The miner is interesting, because in it there is a little something about the recommended frequencies, something that should be included with the ZeusMiner product information like a recommended frequency to reach the advertised hashrate. The official example bat file does have 230 set as frequency and the readme mentions 200 MHz as example, but it also includes the following line “All X6 low power miner must set the ltc-clk lower than 248”. It is up to you to find out what works best with your miner, but our experience with the new X6 miners shows that you should try what works best between 220 and 250 MHz. You can download the new cgminer windows binary from the link below and try it out on your hardware if you still haven’t.
