It Is All About BTC, LTC, ETH, DOGE, KAS mining as well as other alternative crypto currencies
It did not take much time before we get the first sgminer fork with improved performance for the new just launched today Fresh algorithm, the fork is by aznboy84 who managed to squeeze some extra performance (source). We have compiled a windows binary from the source and you can download it below and try to see what extra performance you will get on your mining hardware. Our tests on an AMD Radeon R9 280X shows an increase of the hashrate from about 3700 KHS with the official Fresh miner to about 4600 KHS with the new improved fork, so definetly a good idea to update for some extra hashrate.

We have compiled a windows binary of the new sgminer 5.0 beta based on the latest (source) and you can download and try it yourself from the link below. The sgminer 5.0 beta is trying to provide an unified and feature-full GPU miner by integrating the kernels for mining various crypto currencies in a single miner, including support the latest algorithm – X14, also do note that the X15 kernel is called bitblock for example. Furthermore the software tries to implement the option to use runtime-kernel-switching on the fly between crypto currencies using different algorithms, though this is something that needs some more work. This way a single GPU mining rig can mine for different coins using different algorithms at the same time, or have these pools as failover etc. No need to use a different miner for different pools and for different coins anymore, or at least you may not have to when the software becomes a bit more stable and reliable. A bit of warning though, this is still a beta version, check the DOC folder for more information about the new features if you still haven’t tried the sgminer 5.0 beta.

The X15 algorithm is just starting up and a GPU miner for it was just made available for both AMD and Nvidia GPUs and now comes another new algorithm – X14, and a new X14 OpenCL miner is now available (source). There is currently just a single coin that uses the new X14 algorithm and the coin is called X14Coin as you might’ve guessed already, but most likely soon there will be more new coin launches using this algorithm. We have compiled a windows binary of the new miner and you can download and try it if you are interested in checking out the X14 algorithm. Our tests have shown that an AMD Radeon R9 280X GPU can produce about 2750 KHS in terms of hashrate when mining X14Coin using this miner (make sure you are using the latest video drivers).
