The XMR-STAK-RX RandomX miner has been updated to version 1.0.5 bringing support for two crypto projects that use a variation of the RandomX CPU mining algorithm – Kevacoin (KEVA) and Safex Cash (SFX). Kevacoin (KEVA) uses the RandomKEVA and Safex Cash (SFX) uses the RandomSFX algorithms respectively, though both are based on the RandomX algorithm as a base and are doing better performance wise on recent AMD Ryzen CPUs than on Intel processors. Alternative miners with support for RandomX and the RandomKEVA RandomSFX are SRBMiner-MULTI and XMRig, though have in mind that the XMR-STAK-RX miner does not have a development fee like those two others. Does the lack of a dev fee in the XMR-STAK-RX RandomX CPU miner make it a better choice, well you should compare what performance you are getting on your own hardware for the algorithm you are mining.

Team Red Miner is a performance optimized cryptocurrency miner for AMD GPUs with support for a number of algorithms with the latest version 0.7.1 bringing support for the KAWPOW algorithm used by Ravencoin (RVN) as well as introduces support for Navi GPUs for KAWPOW and Ethash. TeamRedMiner is the 4th software (after WildRig Multi, nanominer and NBMiner) for mining Ravencoin (RVN) after its fork to the new KAWPOW algorithm on AMD GPUs. And it certainly makes a good appearance with its initial support getting it the top spot in terms of performance at least in our test o RX 580 GPUs where it outperformed the competition with at least 1 MH/s over the second fastest miner.

Expected hashrates for KAWPOW:
– RX 5700XT: 28+ MH/s
– Radeon VII: 40+ MH/s
– RX Vega56/64: 25+ MH/s
– RX 580: 14+ MH/s
– RX 570: 13+ MH/s

The miner is available for both Windows and Linux operating systems, a closed source software with 2.5% to 3% development fee built-in for all algos except Ethash and KAWPOW, for KAWPOW it is 2% and for Ethash on Polaris GPUs the dev fee is 0.75% and on all other GPUs is 1.0%.

The latest SRBMiner-MULTI CPU and AMD GPU Miner version 0.4.4 adds support for Ethash and Ubqhash crypto algorithms and you might want to give the miner ago for these two particular algorithms if you ave a Navi-based AMD GPU (Radeon RX 5500/5600/5700 series) due to optimized kernel from Wolf9466. For other AMD GPUs mining Ethash and Ubqhash might not be the fastest, though you can still give a go on your mining hardware. We prefer to stick mostly to CPU mining with SRBMiner-MULTI as it is one of the fastest options for a number of algorithms and coins such as Micro Bitcoin’s Power2b algorithm. The new version also adds some useful options for the newly added algorithms and comes with some fixes and improvements in general, you can see the full changelog below.

SRBMiner-MULTI CPU & AMD GPU Miner 0.4.4 changelog:
– added ‘ethash’ algorithm
– added ‘ubqhash’ algorithm
– added parameter ‘--esm‘ to set ethash/ubqhash stratum mode for pool (0 – eth-proxy, 1 – miner-proxy)
– added parameter ‘esm’ to pools config (ethash/ubqhash stratum mode for pool (0 – eth-proxy, 1 – miner-proxy))
– added parameter ‘--enable-ethash-leak-fix‘ which tries to workaround AMD driver memory leak when recreating DAG.
– fixed algo switching and tweak_profiles miner freeze bug.
--gpu-tweak-profile option can now be used with auto gpu setup in cmd.

SRBMiner-MULTI Miner is a closed source miner available for Linux and Windows, supporting CPU mining algorithms as well as some AMD GPU ones. The miner has a built-in developer fee of 2.50% for cryptonight_bbc and minotaur, 2.00% for bl2bsha3, no fee for blake2b and yespowerurx and 0.85% for all others that are supported.
