New XMRig 4.5.0 Beta With Unified CPU and AMD and Nvidia GPU Support

The XMRig miner is what you would go for if you are interested in mining the RandomX CPU algorithm or any of its variations. While the miner does support CPU and GPU mining for RandomX and other algorithms up until now you had to download separate versions depending on the type of mining hardware you wanted to use, but this is needed no more. The latest XMRig 4.5.0 beta release comes as a unified 3 in 1 miner that supports CPU mining as well as AMD and Nvidia GPU mining. Of course if you are only interested in RandomX mining then you probably want to use CPU mining as GPUs do not perform nowhere near as good as a more recent higher-end multi-core processor does (especially the latest AMD Ryzen CPUs). Then again XMRig does support a number of other algorithms as well and RandomX is not as usable and interesting as of this moment anyway, though in the near future things may significantly change… who knows.

New GMiner v1.71 With Ethash Algorithm Support for Nvidia GPUs

The latest GMiner 1.71 miner has added support for the Ethash algorithm on Nvidia GPUs allowing you to use the miner for mining ETH and ETC for the moment with other coins to be supported in the future. The developer fee of the Ethash algorithm is set at 0.65% instead of the regular 2 percent for other algorithms supported by the miner. Do note that if you are using an Nvidia GPU with GDDR5X video memory such as the GTX 1080 series you should also run the OhGodAnETHlargementPill tool for optimal performance when mining Ethash using GMiner. A quick test has shown that the performance on GTX 1080 Ti with the Pill software running is a little lower than what the latest Claymore Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v15.0 is capable of delivering, so there might be some more room for improvement in future updates.

The GMiner miner requires an Nvidia GPU with CUDA compute capability 5.0 or later as well as CUDA 9.0 driver support, some algorithms are already supported on AMD GPUs as well, but not all. Do note that GMiner is a closed source miner for Nvidia and AMD GPUs with binaries available for both Windows and Linux, also there is a 2% developer fee built-in the software.

WildRig Multi 0.20.0.2 Beta AMD GPU Miner With MTP and MTP-TCR Supportd

The latest WildRig Multi Beta AMD GPU miner has added support for the MTP algorithm used by ZCoin (XZC) as well as the MTP-TCR varian used by Tecracoin (TCR). The support for the MTP algo also includes AMD’s Radeon 5700 and 5700XT GPUs, so you can try the new GPUs as well if you have mining rigs based on them.
